Signs of a scared or distressed rabbit include:
▪️Trying to escape from their hutch or run
▪️Stamping or thumping their hind feet
▪️Remaining totally motionless
Here are some Tips you can take to help ensure that your bunnies (or any other small pets, for that matter) manage to cope with the fireworks and celebrations in as calm and un-stressful a way as possible.
▪️Bring the hutch into the house if necessary. If your bunnies live outside and they’re likely to either be able to see the fireworks, or there’s going to be a display close to where they live, you might want to bring their hutch inside the house for the evening.
In some cases bring in the hutch isn't a option so bring your bunny in the house just for the night works great also!
▪️Play a radio with soothing music close to their house/hutch
▪️Ensure extra bedding so that the rabbits or other animals can burrow inside it and it will help to absorb the noise
▪️Ensure plenty of hiding places inside the hutch. Rabbits and other small pets like to curl up somewhere small and feel secure.
▪️Cover the hutch with a blanket to help deaden the noise of the fireworks
