We had 3 litters lined up, Maple, Addie and Bluebell's. As you know we had to re-breed Maple and Addie didn't take again, so we found her a great retirement home.
Bluebell took as I thought, however it was a very rough process for her. The labor was very long. She started at 9:33 pm on Friday the 27th of Sept. she didn't pass the kit which was a DOA til 3 pm the next day. Unfortunately the kit for some reason was longer than normal, under developed. Which sometimes can happen.
I was saddened to find out that this isn't the first time she has had longer than normal labors and DOA's. So putting out Bluebell's health first we are thinking it may not be a good idea to re-breed her. Her safety comes first and she might be looking for a nice retirement home. We will keep you updated on her. I want to checking into this problem with other breeders and a vet that we finally found that deals with rabbits.
On a better note, Yoda finally figure out breeding. We bred him to Bailey!! We are hoping that Bailey took and will find out in another week or so.
We are also letting Rocco move on to Munchkinland Rabbitry in CT and in return we are getting a new doe name: Lolita. She is a Broken Chocolate Chestnut. I spoke to the current breeder that owns her and she is a great mother, she is actually just weaning a litter and on the 25th of Oct. we will be going to get her.
In other news, Vanellope Von Sweetz is ready to be bred anytime now, but we are going to wait for the right time. I don't want to over breed and have too many litters at one time in our Rabbtiry. Also every other bun is going great and super spoiled.
Thanks for stopping by and check out site for new updates regularly!!!
