ABOUT US:
"Beau"
Welcome to Beau's Maple Leaf Rabbitry! We are located in beautiful Grafton, VT. We added Beau to Maple Leaf Rabbitry since we lost him recently on 07/18/2013. We wanted to honor him in someway since he was the Bun that started this all.
I have a love for all animals and rabbits have a special spot in my heart. I decided to breed Mini Lops after a lot of thought and learning. I'm a small Rabbitry is I strive to devote as much time to my bunnies as I can, as individual family members.... they're like children to me!
We aren't big scale bunny breeders, nor will we ever be, but we look at it like, the less bunnies, the more attention they can have. Once our breeders reach the age of retirement they will live out theirs days here or we find them great retirement homes.
We handle all our babies from day 1, so they get lots of attention and are very used to being handled and played with. All of our buns here are litter box trained. They get out of their cages daily for exercise and also to spend time with us. I feel it is ever important to have them apart of our family. All our buns are also well socialized and have no behavior issues. Every bun here at Beau's Maple Leaf Rabbitry also has their own unique personality.
We feel that it is very important to have a well socialized bun, my daughter loves help work, hold our buns and kits that we have here. That way they are used to kids, adults and they are also exposed to a lot of noises. We also take turns taking our buns for road trips, they love to visit the local Tractor Supply in Walpole, NH and the receive a lot of attention at their visit. They all love car trips and usually end up falling asleep in our laps.
In the spring/summer my daughter loves to take the buns for stroller rides around our local town. We also take then outside for a of fresh air for short amounts of time in our bunny playpen we built. Which is covered with a canopy to keep the out of the sun and in the shade, we also never leave them unattended. Speaking out outside, all our buns are Indoor ONLY, believe that they are happier inside then out.
Inside the house I can keep my eye on everyone throughout the day and see them 24/7 so I don't miss a thing. We also control the temperature for them. AC for the hot months and heat in the cold months. They are our babies and deserved to live a healthy, happy and pampered life!
All of my bunnies receive the best care and affection. They all eat a balanced diet, we feed 18% Poulin Rabbit Feed Rabbit, mixed with Old Fashion Quaker Oats, Calf Manna and Black Oil Sunflower Seeds, and for hay we feed Oxbow Orchard Grass to keep them in happy and tip top shape!
Our buns also receive fresh veggies also, Papaya Enzyme Tablets which keep their digestive system on track and also helps breaks down fur in their system to prevent fur block. ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) we add to their water off and on, it has many benefits, to learn more: http://madhatterrabbits.wordpress.com/2013/12/11/using-apple-cider-vinegar-with-rabbits/.
We also worm/treat our buns with a preventive every 6 months to keep them healthy. Every month we check over each bun (ears, nose, eyes, privates and teeth) we also clean their sent glands which is important, so they don't get blocked.
Having a clean rabbitry is very important for any rabbit's health! We clean our buns cages every 3 days or if sooner if needed and all areas they in. Water bottles are also cleaned and spouts to make sure there is no build up. We also sanitize their water bottles, food bowls as well as cages and litter boxes to make sure they are super clean.
Another thing here at Beau's Maple Leaf Rabbitry is that we work with a lot of herb remedies, which have a lot of benefits, but we always have a great vet also on call if any of our buns or babies need care in any way! It is always important to have a great vet that is knowledgeable about rabbits.
All of our buns are very pampered as you can see, and it so great to receive their love in return. Most of every bun we have here gives us kisses and shows their love in some way.
When buying a bun from us you will get more than just a bun. You will get a very well socialized, loving bun and they will love you in return! We are also very selective when finding homes for our buns, to insure they best home possible.
